Lot 187:
A Lot of 92 Rounds of Winchester Super-X .30-06 Springfield Ammunition
Sold for: $60
Description
This lot consists of a collection of ninety-two rounds of .30-06 Springfield centerfire rifle ammunition presented in five original boxes of varying vintages. The packaging includes two vintage red and white Winchester Super-X boxes, one vintage tan Winchester-Western Super-X box, and two modern grey Winchester Super-X boxes. The modern boxes are labeled for 150 grain and 180 grain Power-Point soft point projectiles. Verbatim markings on the cartridge headstamps include WINCHESTER 30-06 SPRG, R-P 30-06 SPRG, and W-W SUPER 30-06 SPRG, indicating a mix of Winchester and Remington manufactured brass. The projectiles are primarily jacketed soft points designed for medium to large game hunting. The cartridges are housed in a mix of styrofoam and cardboard internal trays.
Condition report:
The ammunition and packaging are in fair to good condition. The brass cartridge cases exhibit varying degrees of tarnish and surface oxidation, with visible green verdigris present on several cases and primers. The lead tips of the projectiles show minor oxidation. The cardboard boxes show typical shelf wear, including scuffing, edge fraying, and some tearing to the end flaps. The internal styrofoam and cardboard dividers are intact but show light staining and wear consistent with age.
