Description
This Remington Sportsman-58 is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch or shorter shells. The barrel is equipped with a ventilated rib, featuring a fixed full choke. The metal surfaces exhibit a blued finish, with the receiver displaying decorative roll-engraved scenes of ducks in flight on the right side and hunting dogs with birds on the left. The furniture consists of a checkered wood stock and forend, and the stock is fitted with a brown rubber Pachmayr Gun Works recoil pad. Key markings include the model designation ‘Remington Sportsman-58’ and the serial number ‘54673V’ on the left side of the receiver. Barrel markings specify ‘REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.’ along with ‘PATENT NO’S 2,645,873 – 2,675,638 OTHERS PENDING’. Additional barrel markings include ’12 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS’ and a ‘FULL’ choke designation.
