Lot 241:
A Lot of 21 Weatherby Ultra-Velocity .257 Weatherby Magnum Ammunition and Cases
Sold for: $45
Description
This lot features a vintage grey cardboard box of Weatherby Ultra-Velocity ammunition chambered in .257 Weatherby Magnum. While the exterior packaging is labeled for twenty cartridges and specifies unprimed cartridge cases, the lot contains a total of twenty-one items: twenty primed brass cases and one complete cartridge with a pointed soft-point bullet. The box displays the Weatherby brand name and the Ultra-Velocity Ammunition model designation prominently. Verbatim markings on the front panel include Always Ahead of the Game and Authentic Weatherby Ammunition. The side panel is marked 20 Cartridges, .257 Weatherby Magnum, Unprimed Cartridge Cases, and the reference number SUC1613/26501. Each brass case features a headstamp marked WEATHERBY .257 MAGNUM.
Condition report:
The grey cardboard box exhibits typical shelf wear, including scuffing at the edges and corners, a handwritten price of $100.00, and residue from a partially removed sticker. The brass cases show minor surface tarnish but remain in good structural condition. The primers are seated correctly in twenty of the cases. The single complete cartridge appears to be in functional condition with a clean projectile. We have not function-tested this ammunition.
