Lot 277:
A Lot of 132 Remington .45 Auto Centerfire Cartridges
Sold for: $45
Description
This lot consists of 132 centerfire cartridges chambered in .45 Auto, housed within three Remington brand cardboard boxes with styrofoam inserts. The collection is organized into three distinct trays: the first contains 50 nickel-plated cartridges with R-P 45 AUTO headstamps, the second contains 50 brass-cased cartridges with mixed manufacturer headstamps, and the third partial tray contains 32 nickel-plated cartridges also bearing the R-P 45 AUTO headstamp. The mixed brass-cased cartridges feature headstamps from various manufacturers including FEDERAL, A-MERC, PMC, SPEER, WCC, and WINCHESTER. All cartridges are fitted with copper-jacketed round-nose projectiles. The packaging includes three green Remington boxes marked with the manufacturer logo, 50 CENTER FIRE CARTRIDGES, and MADE IN U.S.A. One box retains a vintage price tag of 6.89 and a handwritten 131 on the side panel.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit shelf wear consistent with age, including softened corners, minor edge tears, surface scuffing, and light staining. The cartridges show varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation on both the brass and nickel-plated cases, typical of long-term storage. The copper-jacketed projectiles appear intact with some dulling of the finish but remain firmly seated. The primers appear unfired, and the ammunition is sold as live and unspent; however, it is intended for collectible purposes only and has not been function-tested.
