Description

This lot features a Steyr Mannlicher M40-A1 semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W. Manufactured in Austria, this firearm is equipped with a 4 inch barrel and a matte-finished steel slide set upon a black polymer frame. The frame features an integrated accessory rail, currently mounted with a Sig Sauer STL-900L weapon light and laser combination attachment. The grip is ergonomically contoured with textured panels and the Mannlicher logo. The pistol utilizes a unique sighting system consisting of a triangular front sight and a trapezoidal rear sight. Verbatim markings on the left side of the slide include STEYR M40-A1 and 40s&w, while the frame is marked with the importer information SMI USA, West Point, MS. The right side of the slide is engraved with AUSTRIA, STEYR MANNLICHER, Austrian proof marks, the date code ZOM, and the serial number 047164. This serial number is also present on the barrel and a metal plate on the underside of the frame. The firearm is accompanied by a factory black plastic hard case, a manufacturer owner manual, and one spare magazine with capacity indicators for up to 12 rounds. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The pistol is in very good used condition. The matte finish on the slide remains largely intact with only minor thinning at the muzzle and high edges. The polymer frame is well-preserved with crisp texturing and no significant gouges or scratches. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The Sig Sauer light/laser attachment appears in good physical condition; however, battery functionality has not been verified. The factory case and manual show only light shelf wear.
