Key markings include the product name WINCHESTER-Western BALL POWDER SMOKELESS PROPELLANT, the specific designation 231, and the application FOR CENTER FIRE HANDGUN LOADS. The lower portion of the label specifies the quantity as Net wt 3 lb/1.36 kg and includes the Olin corporate branding. Additional alphanumeric identifiers present on the label are LA-103C E109349 and 2313. Condition report:
The metal canister exhibits minor shelf wear, light scuffing, and small stains consistent with age and storage. Slight surface oxidation is visible on the top and bottom metal rims as well as the knurled screw-top lid. The printed label remains largely intact with clear text and vibrant colors. The canister appears to be in its original state, though the internal contents have not been chemically analyzed or weighed for verification of fullness.
