Description
This lot features a mixed ammunition reloading set primarily contained within a vintage green plastic RCBS storage box. The set consists of four metal reloading dies and one RCBS number 18 shell holder, which remains in its original plastic packaging. While the box is labeled for RCBS equipment manufactured in Oroville, California, visual inspection of the components reveals a mixed assembly, as one die is explicitly stamped with the manufacturer name LYMAN on the upper knurled section. The exterior of the case features a worn manufacturer label with the handwritten designation .44 MAG applied over a printed .308 WIN caliber marking. Inside the lid, a reloading data card is present with the handwritten notation .44 M Rifle only. The set also includes several small hex wrenches for adjustment. Key markings include the RCBS Precisioneered Reloading Equipment logo on the lid, the manufacturer address RCBS Inc., Oroville, California 95965 on the side and interior labels, and the part number 09218 for the Shell Holder #18.
Condition report:
The reloading components are in used condition. The metal surfaces of the dies show light surface oxidation and moderate wear to the knurled adjustment rings. The threads appear intact but exhibit some residue from previous use. The green plastic storage container shows significant exterior scuffing, heavy discoloration, and adhesive residue from old labels. The interior data card is yellowed with age and contains clear handwritten ink notations. The shell holder is contained within its original plastic bag, which shows typical shelf wear and minor crinkling.
