Description

This Belgian-made Pieper Bayard Model 1908 is a semi-automatic pocket pistol chambered in 7.65mm, also known as .32 ACP. The pistol features a compact design with a blued finish and is fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips that prominently display the Bayard banner logo. Key markings include the left side of the slide which is stamped CAL. 7.65 MODELE DEPOSE above the manufacturer mark ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS PIEPER / HERSTAL-BELGIUM. The top of the slide is marked BREVETE S.G.D.G. PATENTED SEPT. 8. 1908. On the left side of the frame, the Bayard knight logo appears above the word BAYARD, and the safety selector is marked SUR. The right side of the frame is marked with two serial numbers, 139156 and 189156. Various Belgian proof marks, including a crown over R, are visible on the right side of the slide and frame. This lot includes one detachable box magazine and a black leather inside-the-waistband holster with a metal belt clip. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The blued finish shows significant thinning and wear on the high edges, with areas of light surface oxidation and minor pitting present, particularly on the forward left side of the slide and frame. The black hard rubber grips remain in good condition with well-defined checkering. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The included magazine shows finish wear consistent with the pistol, and the leather holster remains supple with intact stitching and a functional metal clip.
