Sold for: $20
Description
This lot consists of 73 spent .338 Winchester Magnum rifle cartridge casings, intended for use as reloading components. The collection includes 50 brass-finished casings and 23 nickel-plated casings. Key markings identified on the headstamps include R – P 338 WIN MAG, indicating manufacture by Remington-Peters, and W – W SUPER 338 WIN MAG, indicating manufacture by Winchester-Western. The casings are in once-fired condition, with a portion of the lot retaining spent primers while others have been decapped. The items exhibit typical characteristics of used brass, including light surface tarnishing and internal carbon residue consistent with firing.
Condition report:
The casings are in spent, once-fired condition and are considered inert. The exterior surfaces show typical firing wear, including light scratches and varying degrees of surface tarnishing. The nickel-plated casings generally retain a bright finish, while the brass casings show more pronounced oxidation. Internal surfaces contain carbon residue. No significant structural damage or corrosion is observed on the case walls or rims.
