Description
This lot comprises a collection of 142 loose centerfire cartridges and four vintage cardboard ammunition boxes. The ammunition is primarily chambered in .38 Special and .38 S&W calibers. The cartridges are organized into two white foam trays and one black plastic tray, featuring a diverse array of headstamps including REM-UMC 38 SPL, PETERS 38 SPL, WESTERN 38 SPECIAL, W-W 38 SPECIAL, WCC 71, FEDERAL 38 SPL, R-P 38 SPL, and WINCHESTER 38 SPL. The projectiles include various lead round nose and wadcutter types housed in both brass and nickel-plated casings. The accompanying boxes include one white Centennial Arms Corp. box labeled 38 S & W – 146 GR LEAD, one red Federal box for 50 Center Fire Pistol Cartridges, and two green Remington boxes, with one marked for 38 Special and the other for 50 Center Fire Cartridges.
Condition report:
The ammunition casings exhibit varying degrees of tarnish and surface oxidation consistent with age. The projectiles appear intact and the primers are unfired. The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including scuffing, edge fraying, and some structural deformation. The ammunition is sold as collectible only; the mechanical functionality and chemical stability of the vintage components have not been tested.
