Description
This lot consists of a bulk collection of 425 spent ammunition shell casings chambered in .44 Smith and Wesson Special. The collection is primarily composed of yellow brass, though at least one nickel-plated casing is present within the lot. Key markings observed on the headstamps include R – P 44 S&W SPL, indicating production by Remington-Peters, and 44 S&W SPL flanked by two five-pointed stars, which is the hallmark of Starline Brass. All casings are in spent condition with fired primers remaining in the primer pockets. The items show varying degrees of surface tarnish and carbon residue consistent with previous discharge. These components are intended for reloading purposes or scrap recovery.
Condition report:
The casings are in spent, uncleaned condition. Most pieces exhibit typical surface oxidation, tarnish, and powder residue from firing. The primer pockets contain spent primers. No significant structural deformations or splits were observed in the representative samples inspected, though the lot is sold as-is. The brass appears suitable for cleaning and resizing for reloading.
