Description
This is a single-shot, break-action folding shotgun chambered for 20-gauge 3-inch magnum shells. The firearm features a blued barrel equipped with a ventilated rib and a single brass bead front sight. The receiver is finished in a silver tone and decorated with scroll engraving on both sides. The furniture consists of a wood stock and forend featuring checkered panels on the pistol grip and the underside of the forend for improved handling. A notable omission is the buttplate, which is missing and leaves the internal stock cavity exposed. Key markings include J.L. GALEE AND SON N.Y. N.Y. on the right side of the receiver and COMPANION along with PAT. n. 45382 – 54476 on the left. The hinge area is stamped M.A.V.I. GARDONE V.T. ITALY and the top of the barrel is marked MADE IN ITALY. The serial number 5-1397 is located on the left side of the barrel lug. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The silver receiver finish shows light handling wear and some minor discoloration. The blued barrel finish is largely intact but exhibits areas of light surface oxidation, most notably along the ventilated rib. The bore was not inspected. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The wood stock and forend show various scratches, scuffs, and dings from use. The buttplate is missing.
