Lot 88:
A Pair of Bolt Action Rifle Wood Stocks
Sold for: $35
Description
This lot consists of two wooden stocks designed for bolt action rifles. The first item is an unfinished, roughly carved wood stock blank featuring a thumbhole grip and preliminary inletting for a receiver, resembling the style of Richards Microfit Stocks. The second item is a finished, glossy-stained wooden stock featuring a Monte Carlo comb and diamond-pattern checkering on the pistol grip and forend, with inletting consistent with a Winchester Model 70. This finished stock is equipped with a butt plate featuring a white spacer and two sling swivel studs. No manufacturer markings, model names, or serial numbers are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
The unfinished thumbhole stock is in raw, as-carved condition with no finish applied. The finished stock exhibits some surface scratches, minor dings, and finish wear, particularly around the action inletting and along the comb. The checkering remains well-defined with minor flattening in small areas. The butt plate shows light wear at the edges.
