Description

This Benjamin Franklin Model 347 is a single-shot, multi-pump pneumatic air rifle chambered for .177 caliber pellets. The rifle features a blued finish on the barrel and the under-barrel pressure reservoir, which is operated via a grooved wooden pump forearm for charging the pneumatic system. The walnut-finished wood stock is of a standard straight-comb design and includes a brass buttplate. The rifle is equipped with a fixed blade front sight and a screw-adjustable leaf rear sight. Prominent markings on the left side of the receiver include the manufacturer name BENJAMIN FRANKLIN over MADE IN U.S.A. with the serial number F 21281 stamped above. The right side of the receiver is clearly marked CAL .177 MOD. 347. This air rifle demonstrates the classic American multi-pump design intended for target shooting and light small-game applications. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.

Condition report:

The wood stock and forearm exhibit significant cosmetic wear, including numerous deep scratches, dings, and scuffs visible on both sides, particularly along the buttstock and around the trigger guard. The blued metal finish on the barrel and pump tube shows moderate thinning and areas of surface oxidation and accumulated dust. The brass buttplate shows a natural aged patina with surface scratches. The action appears to function mechanically when the bolt is operated and the pump arm is cycled; however, we have not function-tested this rifle for air pressure retention or pellet discharge. The bore was not inspected.
