Description
This Western Field Model 880A-ECH is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle designed for utility and target shooting. The rifle features a blued barrel and a black-finished receiver paired with a smooth wood buttstock and forend. It is equipped with a tubular magazine located beneath the barrel and features a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear notch sight. The trigger guard includes a cross-bolt safety with a red indicator to denote the fire position. The smooth wood stock is finished with a black polymer buttplate featuring a circular textured center and horizontal ribbing. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation on the top of the barrel, which reads verbatim WESTERN FIELD MOD. 880A-ECH CAL. .22 L.R. and is preceded by the Montgomery Ward MW logo. The rifle appears to have all primary components present, including the sights and the magazine tube assembly. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show a well-preserved blued finish on the barrel with minor handling wear and some light thinning near the muzzle. The black finish on the receiver remains mostly intact with some silvering on the edges and light scratches around the ejection port and charging handle. The wooden stock and forend are in good condition, exhibiting scattered light dings and surface scratches consistent with moderate field use. The action appears to function correctly based on a manual cycling of the charging handle, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The bore was not inspected.
