Description
This is a Mossberg Model 151M semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle. It is configured with a 20 inch barrel and a blued steel finish on the major components. The rifle is characterized by its distinctive walnut Mannlicher-style full-length stock, which features a cheekpiece on the left side, a finger-grooved pistol grip, and a metal buttplate with a loading port for the internal tubular magazine. The sighting arrangement consists of a hooded front sight and an adjustable rear leaf sight. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation on the top of the barrel which reads verbatim O.F. MOSSBERG and SONS, INC. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. 151M 22 L.R. ONLY PAT. PEND. No serial number was observed during inspection. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The steel components retain a significant portion of their original blued finish, though there is visible thinning and wear on the receiver and along the length of the barrel, consistent with regular use. The walnut stock remains in solid condition with no visible cracks, showing a variety of surface scratches, dings, and handling marks throughout. The metal buttplate and trigger guard show minor finish loss. The bore was not inspected but the exterior indicates a well-maintained firearm. The action cycles smoothly.
