Description

This lot features an olive drab M2A1 style metal ammunition can filled with a bulk, uncounted quantity of spent .40 S&W caliber shell casings. The exterior of the steel can is finished in matte olive drab paint and exhibits stenciled yellow markings. Verbatim markings include 2-200RD AMMO MAGAZINES, 5.56 MM — M27, O — M200, and LC-86B024-026, suggesting the container originally held linked 5.56mm blank ammunition. The contents consist of fired shell casings in both standard brass and nickel-plated finishes, suitable for reloading purposes. A sample of twenty-two such casings is pictured separately to illustrate the variety of headstamps present, which includes manufacturer markings for Blazer and Winchester. These casings exhibit typical post-firing characteristics such as tarnish and carbon residue within the mouths and primer pockets. The can features a hinged lid with a rubber gasket and a heavy-duty latching mechanism.

Condition report:

The ammunition can is in good surplus condition, displaying typical wear including scattered scratches, paint loss, and areas of minor surface oxidation consistent with field use and storage. The internal gasket appears intact. The spent brass shell casings are in fired, uncleaned condition. They show varying degrees of surface tarnish and carbon buildup but appear structurally sound for processing and reloading.
