Lot 1296:
WesternField Model M842 Bolt Action Rifle .22 S-L-LR with Round Barrel
Sold for: $130
Description
This WesternField Model M842 is a bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. The firearm features a round barrel with a blued finish and an under-barrel tubular magazine for high-capacity rimfire utility. It is mounted on a one-piece smooth hardwood stock with a contoured pistol grip and a factory-style black textured buttplate featuring a white spacer. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear notch sight and a fixed front blade sight. Verbatim markings on the barrel include the manufacturer name WESTERNFIELD followed by MADE IN U.S.A., MODEL M842, and the caliber 22 S-L-LR. No serial number is visible on the exterior surfaces of the firearm, which is common for rimfire rifles of this manufacture period. The action appears to function smoothly, although we have not function-tested this firearm for live fire. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows moderate thinning and surface wear, particularly at the muzzle and along the edges of the receiver. The bore was not inspected. The hardwood stock remains in good condition with scattered light handling marks, shallow scratches, and small dings consistent with field use. The mechanical action appears to be in working order and the sights are correctly seated.
