Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1323:
Sold for: $130
Description
This auction lot features one Iver Johnson Model 1900 double-action, solid-frame revolver chambered in .32 S&W. This model was produced as a reliable and economical personal defense sidearm and is equipped with a 4.5 inch octagonal barrel and a fixed blade front sight. The metal surfaces consist of a steel frame and cylinder with a top strap that is verbatim marked I.J. DOUBLE ACTION and MODEL 1900. The revolver is fitted with two-piece checkered black hard rubber grips featuring the manufacturer’s owl’s head logo at the top and decorative scrollwork below. Key markings include the serial number 8440 found stamped on the underside of the trigger guard. The firearm is configured with a five-shot fluted cylinder and a knurled cylinder pin release. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in fair condition. The original blued finish shows significant thinning and holster wear, having largely transitioned to a gray-brown patina with visible surface oxidation and light pinpoint pitting on the frame and cylinder. The bore is dark with some pitting present but retains visible rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The hard rubber grips are in good condition, showing typical age-related wear but remaining free of significant chips or cracks with clear checkering and logos.
