Description
This Stevens Model 15 is a single-shot bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. It features a 22-inch round barrel with a blued finish that continues onto the receiver. The manual cocking knob at the rear of the bolt is a characteristic feature of this model, requiring the user to manually set the firing pin after chambering a round. The rifle is fitted with a one-piece wooden stock that has an orange-tinted finish and a standard curved butt. It comes equipped with a fixed front blade sight and a drift-adjustable notched rear sight. Barrel markings are transcribed verbatim as STEVENS SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A. MODEL 15 and 22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE. The barrel also displays patent numbers PATENT 2173576, PATENT 2223092, and PATENT 2230372, along with a cloverleaf proof mark. No serial number is visible on the exterior of the firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver remains largely intact, showing only minor thinning and light handling wear. The wooden stock is in good condition, exhibiting scattered scratches and small dings consistent with light use, particularly near the butt end. The bore was not inspected, but the action appears to operate smoothly. We have not function-tested this firearm.
