Description
This lot consists of an original Colt cleaning kit and a standard USGI pattern web rifle sling. The cleaning kit is contained in its original clear plastic packaging and includes an olive drab green nylon pouch, a translucent plastic Luboil bottle, cleaning brushes, and a multi-piece cleaning rod component. The nylon pouch features a white label reading COLT Original Parts with the trademark rampant colt logo, and an internal component bag is marked EDCO 01/96. Also included within the kit is an embroidered blue and white Colt logo patch with a yellow border. The accompanying rifle sling is constructed from heavy olive drab green cotton webbing and is fitted with a metal adjustment buckle, a metal attachment clip, and a dark leather keeper, consistent with issue for M1 Garand and M14 rifles.
Condition report:
The Colt cleaning kit is in new-old-stock condition, with the outer plastic packaging showing minor shelf wear and light soiling. The internal components appear unused and well-preserved. The web rifle sling is in good used condition, showing typical fading and light fraying from field use. The metal hardware shows some finish wear and light surface oxidation, while the leather keeper remains intact with minor age-related surface cracking.
