Lot 1475:
Sold for: $120
Description
A lot of 40 rounds of .22 Remington Jet centerfire ammunition manufactured by Old Western Scrounger Inc. of Montague, California. These cartridges are loaded with 40-grain soft point lead-tipped bullets seated in rimmed, bottlenecked brass cases. The ammunition is housed in two original illustrated cardboard boxes featuring a distinctive squirrel graphic on a green background. Prominent markings transcribed from the packaging include 22 Remington Jet, 40 Grain Soft Point, and Non-Corrosive Reloadable, alongside the manufacturer name Old Western Scrounger Inc. Montague, Ca. and a warning to Keep Out of Reach of Children. The brass cartridge headstamps are marked R-P 22 REM JET. This high-velocity small-bore cartridge was originally developed for use in the Smith & Wesson Model 53 revolver.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good condition with minor surface tarnishing and oxidation to the brass cases and lead tips. The two cardboard boxes show significant signs of age and storage wear, including heavy water staining, surface scuffing, and tearing to the top and end flaps. One white foam tray insert is included and shows minor compression.
