The stainless steel receiver is fitted with two-piece aluminum scope bases and houses a bolt with a black-finished body prominently displaying the Savage logo. The rifle is set into a black polymer Choate Ultimate Varmint thumbhole stock, which offers an adjustable cheek piece, a textured grip, and an integrated monopod adjustment knob at the toe. Key markings include the barrel engraving SAVAGE MODEL 12, CAL. 22-250 REM. and SAVAGE ARMS INC., WESTFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. along with a standard safety warning. The receiver is stamped with the serial number G124553. The stock bears an oval recessed insignia stating THE ULTIMATE VARMINT Designed By Maj. John Plaster. Note that this rifle is missing its magazine and does not include any optics or iron sights. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The stainless steel surfaces of the barrel and receiver are in good condition, showing a bright finish with light handling marks and minor scuffs. The black finish on the bolt body shows typical wear from cycling the action. The aluminum scope bases show signs of minor surface oxidation and light wear in the mounting grooves. The Choate polymer stock remains structurally sound with light cosmetic wear and scuffing from use. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The bore was not inspected, but the muzzle crown appears clean behind the brake.
