Lot 1569:
Crown City Arms M1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol .45 Auto with 5 Inch Barrel
Sold for: $350
Description
This Crown City Arms M1911A1 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 Auto, designed after the classic American military sidearm. It features a 5-inch barrel which provides a standard sight radius and balance. The slide is finished in a dark bluing, while the receiver frame displays a distinct plum or brownish discoloration often seen on cast frames from this period of manufacture. The pistol is equipped with black rubber Pachmayr Signature Model wrap-around grips with textured checkering for an enhanced hold. The sights consist of a fixed front blade and a standard notched rear sight. Prominent markings on the right side of the frame include a crown logo containing the characters CCA followed by the text CROWN CITY ARMS CORTLAND, N.Y. and the serial number A 05072. The barrel is specifically marked -COLT 45 AUTO- visible through the ejection port. One detached single-stack magazine is included with this lot. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm exhibits moderate use with visible surface scratches and finish wear on the slide. The frame retains its unique plum-colored finish with some thinning at the edges and handling marks consistent with its age. The Pachmayr grips are in good condition with minor wear to the rubber surfaces. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though the firearm has not been function-tested for live fire. The bore was not inspected. The included magazine shows significant finish wear and surface oxidation but appears structurally sound.
