Benjamin Franklin Model 312 multi-pump pneumatic air rifle manufactured by the Benjamin Air Rifle Company. This single-shot bolt-action rifle is chambered for .22 caliber projectiles. The piece is constructed with a brass barrel and cylindrical air reservoir. It features a solid wood walnut buttstock and a separate ribbed wooden pump forend. The firing mechanism is controlled by a steel trigger and bolt with a manual hammer-cocking safety. Sights consist of an adjustable rear leaf and a fixed front blade. The receiver bears several stamped inscriptions: BENJAMIN FRANKLIN and MADE IN U.S.A. are located on the left side alongside serial number HL05868. The right side is stamped CAL 22 and COCK HAMMER TO RELEASE SAFETY. A through-bolt is visible in the stock.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show a natural aged patina with areas of tarnish and light surface scuffing. Minor finish thinning is visible at high-contact points such as the muzzle and pump hinge. The wood components remain in good overall condition with an attractive grain, displaying scattered light scratches, small dings, and minor finish loss consistent with age and use. Mechanical functionality, including air compression and seal integrity, has not been tested.
