Description
This is a single-shot bolt-action shotgun chambered for 12-gauge shells, intended for field use and general utility. The firearm features a 28-inch barrel proof-tested for 2 3/4-inch chambers and is equipped with a fixed brass bead front sight. The metal components, including the barrel and receiver, exhibit a traditional blued finish. The shotgun is fitted with a one-piece smooth-finished wood stock featuring a semi-pistol grip and a black plastic buttplate with a textured V design. Key markings on the left side of the barrel include the retailer and model designation SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO. MODEL 14 583.1450 SEARS. Additional barrel markings specify PROOF TESTED 12 GA. / 2 3/4″ CHAMBER. Proof marks present include an HPS in an oval, a six-pointed asterisk, the letters JQ, and a stylized symbol. The action utilizes a straight bolt handle and a manual safety switch located on the right side of the receiver. This model is a single-shot configuration and does not feature an external magazine. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good overall condition. The blued finish on the metal components shows thinning and light wear from handling, with a few minor scratches on the barrel surface. The wood stock remains in good condition with scattered dings, minor compressions, and light scratches consistent with field use. The bore is bright. The action appears to function correctly and locks up tight, though the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The brass bead sight and plastic buttplate are intact and in good condition.
