Description
This Taurus Model 85 is a double-action/single-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, designed as a compact personal defense firearm. The two-inch snub-nose barrel features three circular ports on each side of the serrated ramp front sight to help manage muzzle flip. The revolver is constructed with a polished stainless steel finish on the frame, five-shot swing-out cylinder, and barrel. It is equipped with a black textured rubber grip that includes finger grooves and a gold-tone Taurus logo medallion on each side. Key markings include the manufacturer name TAURUS on the left side of the barrel and .38 SPECIAL on the right. The right side of the frame is stamped with TAURUS INT.MFG. MIAMI,FL.-USA, MADE IN BRAZIL, and the serial number TI59185. Inside the crane and on the frame below, the assembly number 2477 and model designation 85 are clearly visible. The firearm features a fixed rear notch sight and a standard spurred hammer for single-action capability. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The polished stainless steel finish is in good condition, exhibiting minor superficial handling scratches and a light, consistent cylinder turn line. The black rubber grips remain supple with well-defined texturing and secure medallions. The bore appears bright with crisp rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes, and the cylinder locks up securely. We have not function-tested this firearm.
