Description
This is a Glenfield Model 60 semi-automatic rifle manufactured by the Marlin Firearms Company, chambered for .22 L.R. caliber. The rifle is equipped with a 22 inch blued steel barrel and a full-length tubular magazine. The firearm features a black-finished aluminum receiver and a hardwood stock decorated with pressed squirrel and oak leaf motifs on the pistol grip and forend. The sighting system consists of a fixed ramp front sight and an elevator-adjustable leaf rear sight. The top of the receiver is grooved to accept standard rimfire scope mounts. Prominent markings on the barrel read GLENFIELD MOD. 60 THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A. CAL. 22 L.R. ONLY, alongside a JM proof mark. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number 21572420. The stock terminates in a checkered black plastic buttplate. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in fair to good condition, showing signs of significant use. The blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube exhibits widespread surface oxidation and light pitting. The black finish on the aluminum receiver shows extensive flaking and finish loss, particularly on the top and left side. The hardwood stock has various scratches, dings, and finish wear consistent with age, though the pressed checkering remains clear. The bore is bright with visible rifling and some internal fouling. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but the firearm has not been live-fire tested.
