Lot 221:
Description
This Benjamin Franklin Model 310 is a pump-action air rifle chambered for BBs and features a bolt-action breech. The rifle is equipped with a two-piece wood stock assembly featuring a ribbed pump forend and a smooth buttstock. The metal components exhibit a bronze-toned finish which displays a developed patina and visible thinning from handling wear throughout. Prominent markings include the manufacturer designation BENJAMIN FRANKLIN and MADE IN USA on the right side of the receiver along with the serial number H243870. The top of the receiver is stamped CAL BB MODEL 310 and includes the instructional text COCK HAMMER TO RELEASE SAFETY. It is fitted with a fixed front post sight and an adjustable rear leaf sight. The wood furniture shows various scratches, dings, and handling marks consistent with its age and use. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The bronze-toned finish shows significant wear and thinning on the barrel and receiver with scattered light surface oxidation and scratches. The wood stock and forend are structurally sound but show numerous surface scratches, small impact dings, and finish wear, particularly on the buttstock. The bore was not inspected. The pump and bolt actions appear to function mechanically, though the seals have not been tested for air compression or muzzle velocity.
