Description
This Taurus Model 85 is a compact five-shot double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, designed with a 2-inch barrel for concealed carry utility. The firearm features a deep blued finish on the frame and cylinder, accented by a case-hardened hammer and trigger. It is equipped with black textured rubber Hogue grips featuring ergonomic finger grooves for a secure hold. The sighting arrangement includes a fixed serrated ramp front sight and an integral frame notch rear sight. Verbatim markings include TAURUS-BRASIL on the left side of the barrel and .38 SPECIAL on the right side. The right side of the frame is stamped with the importer and manufacturer information TAURUS INT. MFG. MIAMI, FL. – USA and MADE IN BRAZIL, along with the circular Taurus logo and the serial number LI12995. This lot consists of one firearm and is accompanied by its original black cardboard factory box with a matching serial number label, the owner manual, and promotional paperwork. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in good overall condition, retaining a high percentage of its original blued finish with minor thinning and wear consistent with light handling, primarily visible on the cylinder and frame edges. The case hardening on the hammer and trigger remains vibrant. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The Hogue rubber grips are well-preserved with no significant tears or signs of heavy use. The included factory box shows moderate shelf wear and edge fraying but remains intact.
