Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 559:
Sold for: $75
Description
This lot consists of 160 rounds of Herter’s International Select Grade 7.62x39mm ammunition, presented in eight 20-round factory boxes. The collection is comprised of six boxes of 122-grain hollow point (HP) and two boxes of 122-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) cartridges. These cartridges feature non-corrosive, Berdan-primed steel cases and copper-jacketed projectiles. The packaging is extensively marked with the brand name Herter’s, the caliber 7.62 x 39mm, and the specific bullet weights of 122 gr HP and 122 gr FMJ. The labels indicate the components are Steel Case, Non-Corrosive, and Berdan Primed, with the production origin noted as Made in Russia. Several Russian proof and inspection marks are visible on the side panels, including the PCT symbol over SA03, the GIC mark within a diamond, and a manufacturer’s logo consisting of a circle with two opposing horizontal arrows.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in factory-original condition. The gray steel cases appear clean and free of corrosion or significant oxidation. The copper jackets on the projectiles remain bright. The cardboard packaging shows minor signs of shelf wear, such as light creasing at the corners and occasional surface scuffs, but all boxes remain intact and structured. The cartridges appear live and functional; however, we have not function-tested this ammunition.
