Description
This lot consists of 75 rounds of Winchester Super-X heavy game load 20 gauge shotgun ammunition, distributed across three vintage cardboard boxes containing 25 shells each. These 2 3/4 inch shells are configured with a 1 ounce load of number 6 lead shot and a 2 1/2 dram equivalent. The silver-colored boxes feature iconic red and black graphics, including illustrations of a rabbit and a squirrel on the top flaps. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Winchester Super-X Lead Shot Heavy Game Loads, 20 Gauge, 2 3/4 Inches, 2 1/2 Dr. Eq., 1 Oz., 6 Lead Shot, and product code XU20H6. The individual rounds are constructed with yellow plastic hulls and feature stamped markings for Winchester, 2 3/4 Inch, and 6. The metal heads of the visible shells show a mix of silver-toned and brass-toned finishes.
Condition report:
The boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear, surface scuffing, and minor corner damage consistent with long-term storage, though the printed information and illustrations remain clear and legible. The ammunition shells appear to be in good overall condition with the yellow plastic hulls remaining intact. Some of the metallic heads show light surface oxidation or tarnish typical of age. The primers appear undisturbed, and the rounds are presumed to be live and unfired.
