Description
This lot features a single replacement barrel for a U.S. Model 1903A3 Springfield bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The barrel measures approximately 24 inches in length and is finished in a military-style matte grey Parkerized coating. It includes an integrated front sight base at the muzzle, though the sight blade and pin are missing. The breech end is threaded for installation into a receiver and features the standard extractor cut. Verification of the manufacturer and production period is provided by verbatim markings near the muzzle, which specify R A above a flaming bomb ordnance symbol and the date 2-44, signifying production by Remington Arms in February 1944. The barrel shank is additionally stamped with the characters X Δ 6 0. This component is being sold as a standalone barrel without any additional sights or hardware. Condition report:
The barrel retains a majority of its matte grey Parkerized finish, showing general surface wear, some staining, and light discoloration consistent with military surplus storage and use. The breech threads remain sharp and undamaged, and the extractor cut is well-defined. The integrated front sight base is intact, but as noted, the blade is absent. The bore was not inspected for this report.
