Description

This lot features two US military M1 Carbine magazines and a coordinating dual-cell canvas pouch, originating from the World War II and Korean War eras. The collection consists of one standard 15-round steel box magazine and one extended capacity 30-round steel box magazine. The 30-round magazine is stamped with the manufacturer mark KI on the rear spine, identifying it as a product of the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors. The 15-round magazine also features a manufacturer mark on the rear spine near the base, although it is not clearly legible. The dual-cell magazine pouch is constructed from heavy-weight OD#3 khaki canvas, specifically designed to house two 15-round magazines. The pouch features a single top flap secured by a central blackened brass Lift-the-Dot style snap fastener and is equipped with blackened metal drainage grommets at the base of each cell. These items were standard issue for members of the US Army and US Marine Corps during mid-20th century service.

Condition report:

The canvas pouch is in good used condition, showing typical field wear, including light staining and fraying along the edges; the hardware retains some of its original blackened finish with moderate wear. The magazines show significant finish wear consistent with age and service use. The 15-round magazine displays light surface oxidation and areas of minor pitting. The 30-round magazine shows standard wear to the blued or parkerized finish with minor surface oxidation present.
