Lot 376:
Sold for: $225
Description
This lot consists of a metal ammunition storage tin containing a total of 240 rounds of .380 Revolver cartridges manufactured by Chartered Industries of Singapore. The ammunition is organized into twenty individual cardboard boxes, with the upper layer of ten boxes currently visible, each containing 12 rounds. The cartridges feature brass casings fitted with copper-jacketed bullets and rimmed bases. The exterior of the olive drab storage tin retains a paper label printed with the text REVOLVER O·380 2Z 240 ROUNDS CIS and is hand-stamped with the designation LOT NO: RD 62 and the date DATE 11 SEP 1973 in blue ink. Each of the internal cardboard boxes is printed with the technical specification REVOLVER 0.380 2Z 12 ROUNDS CIS. Individual cartridge headstamps are clearly marked with the manufacturer and caliber codes CIS, 380, 2Z, and GC.
Condition report:
The exterior olive drab metal storage tin shows significant evidence of wear, including extensive paint loss, surface scratches, and patches of light oxidation consistent with long-term military-style storage. The internal contents are in very good to excellent condition. The individual cardboard boxes remain intact with only minor shelf wear and light soiling. The cartridges themselves appear well-preserved, exhibiting bright brass casings and clean copper jackets without signs of corrosion, verdigris, or damage. The ammunition appears to be live and functional.
