Description

This is a Yugoslavian Model 24/52-Č bolt action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm), representing a post-World War II refurbishment of Czechoslovakian Vz. 24 rifles. The rifle is equipped with an approximately 23.25 inch barrel featuring a hooded front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated from 300 to 2,000 meters. The metal components exhibit a deep arsenal blued finish on the receiver and barrel, while the bolt is left in polished steel. The walnut stock is a full-length military pattern with a semi-pistol grip, finger grooves in the forend, and a flat steel buttplate. Key markings on the receiver ring include the Yugoslavian national crest above the model designation M24/52-Č, while the left side of the receiver bears the Cyrillic factory mark ПРЕДУЗЕЋЕ 44 (Enterprise 44) along with the initials ΦHPJ. The primary serial number 13859 is found on the right side of the receiver and the bolt handle, and it is also stamped vertically into the right side of the wood stock. A secondary dot-matrix importer serial number M24007827 is present on the left side of the receiver ring. Despite being marked by the importer as M24/47 YUGO 8MM C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. on the barrel, the receiver markings definitively identify it as an M24/52-Č. The rifle is complete with its cleaning rod and metal sling loops. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The metal surfaces retain a high percentage of the arsenal blued finish, showing typical edge wear on the receiver and barrel bands, along with light thinning on the trigger guard and floorplate. Minor surface oxidation is present on the buttplate and cleaning rod. The wood stock is in good service condition, displaying numerous small dings, scratches, and handling marks consistent with military use. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling throughout. The bolt action appears to function correctly and cycles smoothly, and the trigger is crisp, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
