Sold for: $450
Description
This is a Chinese Type 56 SKS semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, a classic military surplus carbine produced at the famous Factory 26 state arsenal. The rifle features a standard 20.5-inch barrel equipped with an integrated folding spike bayonet and an under-barrel cleaning rod. The receiver, barrel, and fixed 10-round box magazine display a blued finish, while the bolt carrier is left in polished steel. It is mounted in a smooth wood stock that has been modified with a non-standard black perforated metal ventilated upper handguard. Sighting is provided by a hooded front post and an adjustable rear tangent sight graduated for distance. The buttstock is fitted with a metal plate containing a trapdoor for a cleaning kit and includes a green canvas sling with leather attachment loops. Key markings include the Factory 26 arsenal mark consisting of a triangle containing the number 26, followed by the characters 五六式 signifying Type 56 and the serial number 1732571 on the left side of the receiver. The bolt carrier and left side of the buttstock are stamped with a matching number 32571, while the trigger guard and internal magazine floorplate are marked with a non-matching number 22891. The underside of the barrel bears the import mark KFS ATL GA MADE IN CHINA SKS 7.62×39. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition, exhibiting wear patterns typical of a military surplus firearm. The blued finish on the receiver and barrel shows some thinning at the high points and minor surface scratches, but remains largely well-preserved. The polished bolt carrier is bright. The wood stock displays various minor dings, scuffs, and handling marks consistent with service use, while the aftermarket metal handguard is in excellent condition. The bore condition was not visible for inspection. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm for live fire. The folding bayonet mechanism is functional and locks securely.
