Description
This is a Husqvarna bolt-action sporting rifle built on a large-ring Mauser 98-style action and chambered for the 8x57mm Mauser cartridge. The firearm features an approximately 24 inch blued steel barrel equipped with a ramped front bead sight and a fixed notched rear sight blade. The receiver is constructed with a thumb cut in the left rail and is factory drilled and tapped on the receiver ring and bridge for optic mounts. It is mounted in a checkered walnut sporting stock with a pistol grip, a black synthetic grip cap, and front and rear sling swivels. Verbatim markings include the receiver ring engraved with a crown over a stylized H monogram above the word SWEDEN. The top of the barrel is engraved HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS A.B. 8×57. The left side of the barrel and receiver bear the serial number 148872, accompanied by a crown proof mark and the word Nitro. The black synthetic buttplate is embossed with the Husqvarna crown logo. The bolt assembly is polished steel with a standard three-position Mauser safety. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in very good condition overall. The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows approximately 95 percent retention with minor thinning at the muzzle and high edges of the receiver. The polished bolt displays light cycling wear and remains bright. The walnut stock is well-preserved with sharp checkering and exhibits light handling marks, dings, and surface scratches consistent with field use. The action appears to function smoothly and correctly, although the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The bore was not inspected but the overall exterior condition suggests a well-maintained piece. The buttplate and grip cap are free of cracks or significant damage.
