Description
This Browning BAR is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum, designed for big-game hunting. It features a 24-inch barrel with a high-gloss blued finish that extends to the steel receiver. The furniture consists of a two-piece checkered walnut stock and forend with a high-gloss varnish. The rifle is equipped with a Leupold-branded scope mount base and lacks traditional iron sights. It includes a gold-tone trigger featuring the Buckmark logo, a cross-bolt safety, and a factory Browning-branded black rubber recoil pad. Key markings include the model designation BROWNING BAR and the serial number 137 NM 40329 on the left side of the receiver. Barrel markings specify BAR CALIBER 7mm. Rem. Mag. ONLY and BROWNING PATENTS on the left, with the right side stating BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM BY FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL. ASSEMBLED PORTUGAL. Belgian proof marks are visible on the barrel at the receiver junction. The lot includes a brown leather sling with basketweave embossing, a black polymer hard-shell carry case, and a package of Hoppe’s cleaning patches. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition, retaining most of its original high-gloss blued finish with minor handling marks and some light thinning on the sharp edges of the receiver. The bolt shows light surface speckling and minor oxidation. The walnut stock and forend are in good condition, exhibiting minor dings and scratches to the high-gloss finish, most notably on the left side of the buttstock. The checkering remains sharp and well-defined. The bore was not inspected but appears clear from the muzzle. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been test-fired. The leather sling and recoil pad are in good, serviceable condition.
