Description
This lot contains a group of 52 rounds of centerfire rifle ammunition chambered in .222 Remington. The collection is housed in three original cardboard boxes, featuring one Winchester Super X box and two Western Super X boxes. The ammunition utilizes 50-grain pointed soft point bullets intended for varmint and small game hunting applications. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Winchester Super X and Western Super X logos, along with the text 222 Remington, 50 GR. PTD. S.P., and 20 Rifle Cartridges. The Winchester box is further identified by the catalog number W222R, while the Western boxes bear the catalog number 222R. The brass-cased cartridges are finished with headstamps transcribing W-W Super and 222 Rem. All cartridges feature exposed lead tips and traditional primers.
Condition report:
The brass cartridge cases are in good condition with light surface tarnish and age-appropriate patina. The exposed lead tips of the pointed soft point bullets show some expected oxidation and dulling. The cardboard boxes exhibit shelf wear consistent with age, including yellowing, minor staining, and light fraying at the corners and flaps. One tray is present and holds the cartridges securely. The ammunition appears to be live and well-preserved.
