Description
This lot consists of 200 rounds of Remington Kleanbore .22 Hornet ammunition, divided among four original green and red cardboard boxes. Each box is marked with index number 0222 and contains Hi-Speed loads featuring 45 grain soft point bullets and 50 center-fire smokeless cartridges. Transcribing the box markings verbatim, the front panel reads Remington KLEANBORE 22 HORNET Hi-Speed 45 GRAIN SOFT POINT BULLET 50 CENTER FIRE SMOKELESS CARTRIDGES along with the Du Pont logo and Made in U.S.A. designation. The individual cartridges feature brass casings with headstamps that read REM-UMC at the top and .22 HORNET at the bottom. These rounds are assembled with silver-colored primers and jacketed projectiles with exposed lead soft points.
Condition report:
The original cardboard boxes exhibit significant age-related wear, including surface scuffing, edge fraying, and minor tearing at the flaps. The ammunition shows typical signs of aging, with the brass casings developing a dark tarnish and some spots of surface corrosion. The lead tips of the soft point bullets show visible white oxidation, commonly referred to as lead bloom. The silver-colored primers are intact, and while the ammunition appears to be in its original live state, it has not been tested for functionality.
