Gun Collectors Dream Auction #86 Collector Auction
Lot 157:
Sold for: $180
Description
This lot consists of 300 rounds of remanufactured .218 Bee centerfire ammunition organized into three individual plastic 100-round cases. The brass casings are marked with the headstamp W-W SUPER 218 BEE, indicating manufacture by Winchester-Western. The collection is comprised of three distinct hand-loaded batches as identified by handwritten labels on the containers. The first batch, contained in a clear plastic case, includes 100 rounds of jacketed hollow-point projectiles with a label partially reading 40 gr HP 218 B. The second batch, also in a clear plastic case, contains 100 rounds of flat-nose projectiles with a label transcribing the load as .218 Bee 40gr Flat Nose 14.5gr AA-1680. The third batch is housed in a red plastic case and contains 100 rounds of pointed jacketed ammunition featuring red primer sealant. Each case is organized in a ten-by-ten grid with ninety-nine rounds seated vertically and one representative round laid horizontally across the top.
Condition report:
The brass casings exhibit light surface tarnishing and minor discoloration consistent with age and typical storage conditions. The primers appear to be properly and uniformly seated. The clear and red plastic storage cases are intact and functional, though they show some external scuffing and the handwritten labels have begun to yellow or fade slightly. As this is remanufactured ammunition of unknown origin, it is sold as-is for components and should be inspected by a qualified professional or used with caution.
