Description
This lot consists of 295 rounds of Western Super-X .22 Short rimfire ammunition, contained within six vintage cardboard boxes. The collection includes five boxes of 22 Short long range cartridges and one box specifically labeled as 22 Short (H. P.) hollow point. The packaging features a distinctive yellow and blue color scheme with Western printed in red script and bold Super-X branding. Prominent markings include the designations Extra Clean and Wax Coated, along with product codes SX22S, K1208R, and K1209R. The reverse of the boxes describes the use of Double Action Smokeless Powder and Lubaloy plated bullets. Visual inspection of the interior contents reveals a mixture of ammunition, including nickel-plated cases featuring a diamond-enclosed SUPER headstamp and brass cases with a script Rem headstamp, indicating that the boxes contain mixed loads rather than uniform factory-sealed contents.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show age-related wear consistent with long-term storage, including corner rounding, edge abrasions, light staining, and minor structural tears. Some boxes bear handwritten price or inventory notations in pencil and ink.
