Description
This is a Remington Model 513-T Matchmaster bolt action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, configured as a dedicated target firearm. The rifle is equipped with a 27 inch heavy target barrel featuring a blued finish that shows areas of thinning and age-related wear. The receiver is also blued and is fitted with a Redfield aperture rear sight, while the muzzle is fitted with a Griffin and Howe globe front sight. The furniture consists of a smooth walnut target stock with a semi-pistol grip, a wide forend, and a checkered steel buttplate. Two sling swivels are attached to the underside of the stock. A single detachable box magazine is included with the lot. Extensive barrel markings include REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. followed by PAT’S. — 1,908,035 — 1,913,840 — 2,356,257 — 2,331,405. The barrel is further marked THE MATCHMASTER MODEL 513-T and Remington 22 LONG RIFLE. A date code PYY and an anchor proof mark are stamped on the left side of the barrel at the breech. The bolt assembly shows a dark patina and surface oxidation. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a significant amount of original bluing, with thinning at the muzzle and high edges, and scattered handling marks throughout. The bolt body and handle show a dark patina with visible surface oxidation and light frosting. The walnut stock is in good condition with various small dings, shallow scratches, and compressions consistent with its age and use, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The bore was not inspected. The checkered steel buttplate shows some wear to the finish and light surface oxidation in the checkering. The aperture sights appear to be in good mechanical order.
