Description
This is a Colt AR-15 A2 Government Carbine, a semi-automatic rifle chambered for 5.56mm NATO and .223 caliber ammunition. The firearm features a 16 inch barrel with a 1/7 twist rate, equipped with a standard A2 birdcage-style flash hider. The metal surfaces exhibit a matte gray-black finish on the receivers with a darker parkerized finish on the barrel. Key markings on the left side of the lower receiver include the Rampant Colt logo followed by COLT, AR-15 A2, GOV’T CARBINE, CAL. .223, and the serial number GC019206. The right side of the receiver is marked COLT’S MFG. CO. INC. / HARTFORD, CONN. / U.S.A. Barrel markings specify C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7. The rifle is equipped with an A2-style upper receiver featuring an integral carry handle with a dual-aperture adjustable rear sight and a fixed A-frame front sight post with a bayonet lug. The furniture consists of a black checkered polymer pistol grip, a two-piece ribbed polymer handguard with an added bottom-mounted Picatinny accessory rail, and a four-position telescoping polymer buttstock marked 4U186 and MADE IN U.S.A. One gray metal detachable box magazine is included. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
the rifle is in very good condition, retaining a high percentage of its original finish. Minor handling wear is present in the form of light surface scratches on the receivers and finish thinning on sharp edges and the bolt carrier. The bore is bright with crisp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly when manually cycled, though it has not been live-fire tested. The polymer furniture is excellent with sharp checkering on the grip and minimal scuffing on the handguards and stock. The accessory rail is securely attached.
