Description
A lot of 80 rounds of .225 Winchester centerfire rifle ammunition consisting of four individual twenty-round boxes with 55-grain pointed soft point projectiles. This group features two boxes of Western Super-X ammunition and two boxes of Winchester Super-Speed ammunition, all chambered for the .225 Winchester rifle. The cartridges are held in original yellow cardboard packaging with prominent red and blue graphics. Transcribed markings on the Western boxes include Western Super-X Center Fire Cartridges and the catalog number 2251, while the Winchester boxes are marked Winchester Super-Speed Center Fire Cartridges with catalog number W2251. Each box label specifies the load as 225 Winchester 55 Gr. Ptd. Soft Point. Individual brass cartridge cases feature headstamps including Super-X 225 Win and W-W Super 225 Win. The rounds are arranged in internal two-row cardboard dividers and appear to be original live factory loads.
Condition report:
The ammunition and packaging are in good vintage condition. The brass cartridge cases show a natural aged patina with areas of light surface tarnish and oxidation. The lead tips of the pointed soft point bullets exhibit light white oxidation common for the age of the materials. The original cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear including frayed corners, edge wear, and scattered staining. One Winchester box shows significant surface paper loss on the upper right corner of the front face. Handwritten price markings and adhesive remnants from old labels are present on several box surfaces. The boxes remain structurally sound and contain the original inner dividers.
