Description
This is a single-shot, break-action shotgun chambered for .410 gauge 3-inch shells, designed as a reliable utility firearm. It features a 28-inch blued steel barrel with a full choke and a single brass bead front sight. The receiver is finished in attractive case-hardening, displaying distinct blue and straw color patterning. The furniture consists of a smooth wood stock and matching forend, with the buttstock terminating in a red ventilated rubber recoil pad featuring the H&R Arms Co. logo. Key markings on the left side of the receiver include the model designation TOPPER MODEL 158 over HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON, INC. over WORC. MASS. USA. and the serial number AG251245. The top of the barrel is stamped with a circled P proof mark followed by .410 GA. 3 INCH FULL. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good used condition. The blued finish on the barrel remains largely intact with some light handling marks and minor surface scratches visible. The case-hardened receiver retains strong color patterning across both sides. The smooth wood stock and forend show numerous small scuffs and white surface scratches consistent with field use, though no cracks or structural issues are evident. The bore was not inspected but the exterior suggests it has been well-maintained. The break-action mechanism appears to function correctly, though the firearm has not been function-tested.
