Description
This is a Glenfield Model 60 semi-automatic rifle manufactured by The Marlin Firearms Co. in North Haven, Connecticut, chambered for .22 Long Rifle. The rifle features a 22 inch blued steel barrel and is equipped with a full-length tubular magazine located beneath the barrel. The receiver has a black finish and includes an integrated groove for mounting rimfire optics. It is mounted in a light-stained hardwood stock that features decorative pressed checkering and diamond motifs on the forend and pistol grip, ending in a black plastic buttplate. Sighting is provided by a ramped front blade and a step-adjustable rear leaf sight. Key markings on the left side of the barrel include GLENFIELD MOD. 60 THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. CAL. 22 L.R. ONLY, along with a JM proof mark stamped near the breech. The receiver is stamped with the serial number 24577408 on the left side. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits an honest, used condition consistent with its age. The blued barrel and bolt show areas of surface oxidation and light freckling throughout. The receiver finish shows moderate wear and silvering along the high edges and top rail. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The hardwood stock remains solid with various minor dings, scratches, and impressions from field use, though the pressed checkering remains distinct. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition.
