Description
This lot features five black leather firearm holsters, each decorated with a classic basketweave stamped pattern. The collection includes a variety of duty-style configurations such as standard belt-loop mounts and units equipped with large leather backplates for swivel-style carry. Prominent markings include two holsters by Tex Shoemaker & Sons, bearing model numbers 75 N L and 75 K 6, the latter of which cites U.S. Patent 4303185. One holster is marked B7A-6BV, which is a designation for a Safariland manufactured model. Additionally, one holster interior is stamped Oliver’s San Jose, Calif, and another features a partially obscured oval stamp reading Western Holster Co. L.A. Cal. The items are constructed from thick, durable leather and utilize a combination of chrome- and brass-finished metallic snaps and rivets.
Condition report:
The collection is in used condition with visible surface wear throughout. The black finish on the leather shows evidence of cracking and scuffing, most notably on the Oliver\'s and Western Holster Co. units. The metallic hardware exhibits a natural patina and some light oxidation consistent with age and use. While the leather remains pliable and structurally sound, there is significant finish loss and distress to the exterior surfaces. Interior linings show typical wear consistent with the repeated holstering of a firearm.
