Description
This is a single semi-automatic recoil-operated shotgun, identified as a Remington Model 11 chambered for 12 gauge. It features a 28-inch plain barrel with a fixed full choke. The top of the barrel is marked with MODEL 11 followed by THE REMINGTON ARMS UNION METALLIC CTG. CO. INC. REMINGTON ILION WKS. ILION N.Y. U.S.A. and patent dates spanning from 1900 to 1903. The upper tang is engraved with Remington over TRADE MARK. The serial number 257627 is stamped on the underside of the receiver forward of the loading port. Additional markings include a REP proof mark in an oval on the right side of the barrel and a FULL marking on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. The furniture consists of a plain walnut stock and forend, finished with a black checkered buttplate bearing the REMINGTON UMC logo. The left side of the stock wrist features three small holes arranged in a triangular pattern. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in fair condition. The metal surfaces exhibit a heavily worn finish that has aged into a dark brownish-grey patina with visible surface oxidation and moderate pitting across the receiver and the length of the barrel. The walnut stock and forend show numerous scratches, dings, and abrasions consistent with significant field handling, along with the aforementioned non-factory holes in the wrist. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
